OUR STORY & PHILOSOPHY

J.B.Chausson - England was created in 2020 to provide musicians of all ages and stages with violin, viola, and cello bows that suit the pressures of modern performance. At a time where investing in antique bows is still a very smart move, we should be protecting our assets with more care than ever no matter the value. Outdoor performance, fast-paced recording sessions, and heavy touring can lead to potential accidental and environmental damage that could easily cause emotional and financial heartbreak that an insurance claim or repair can't heal.

With this in mind, we set out to create a hard-wearing, responsive, and affordable alternative that could be used in situations where you'd rather leave your No.1 bow behind. We sourced premium pernambuco, vibrant silver, and dense ebony from around the world and worked with a team of talented bowmakers to create a standardised model based off the old masters with a modern feel. Once finished, our small batch production is tested by a small team of trusted friends and colleagues to make sure they perform as they should and are ready for the modern musician.
